Summer 2004
These are pictures of Mia and her kittens. Mia was a stray cat we took in early June 2004. She adopted us (or rather adopted our pets by playing with them through the windows every day). Mia was about 7-8 months old in these pictures, and to our surprise, she had already given birth to kittens - 4 of them. But, we couldn't bring Mia in until after we found the kittens. After a couple weeks of searching, we found the kittens under the neighbor's deck, captured the family and took them in. We took care of them from June through July. The orange kittens were adopted by the neighbor's daughter, and the grey kittens were adopted through Furry Friends Rescue.
Not wanting to get too attached to them, we named them silly names like Fluff (for long fluffy hair), Feisty (because he was the most feisty of the bunch), 2-Stripe and 3-Stripe (because the only way to differentiate the grey twins is by the number of stripes on their right leg). Since being adopted, Fluff has been renamed Gus, and Feisty is called Cracker. Mia got her name as in Mamma Mia because of all the trouble we went through trying to catch her and the 4 kittens at the same time. Those little buggers bite!
The father was probably Siamese. The orange gene probably came from mom.All four kittens have a tabby look as well, from mom.
